Movement is non-negotiable at Menopause…but the right movement at the right time and the right intensity is essential.

The evidence base for menopause is expanding all the time – but understanding how to use movement strategies to help our clients to live well during and after menopause (whether or not hormone therapy is used) is essential. Join Michelle Lyons, women's health physio for this workshop for teachers and therapists to get the latest information on working with this client base.
  • Understanding the effects of changing hormones on our musculoskeletal system
  • Muscle and joint pain at menopause – why are women at risk for tendon issues at midlife?
  • How is pelvic health affected and what the best strategies may be to improve it?
  • What’s the current thinking on exercise prescription for bone health?
  • Does menopause affect balance?
  • Why some types of exercise can actually cause weight gain?!
We’ll start with some of the science -understanding what’s happening and why but this will be a primarily movement based class, focusing on a whole person approach to menopausal wellness, incorporating Pilates, yoga, mindfulness, resistance training & breathwork – all in line with the latest evidence.

We'll have plenty of time for discussion, questions (and answers!) and movement prescriptions, demonstration and participation.
Cancellation policy Course fees are fully refundable if cancelled 30 days prior to course less an admin fee. 50% is refundable for cancellations within 2 weeks of course but there are no refunds for cancellations within 7 days of course.

In the event of travel restrictions outside of our control as a result of natural disaster, pandemic or anything else beyond our control, or if we are restricted on numbers in the studio for the same reasons, we reserve the right to change to online live learning where possible.
